The REMIX of The 8r8 in 2021

My commitment and if you are reading then I am sure I fucked you. The question is what did it do for you? Was it physical or was it mental? Do you miss me or is this some kind of weird shit that you never tell anyone that you do? It was probably love but what's done is done. I can assure that my commitment to uncertainty is hiding behind playful approached to very quiet return unless just sexual because I think that would be cool too. Reading through my previous posts I don't remember writing anting in a somewhat horny tone, but these are the kind of questions I am back to explore with the 2021 Remix. So the very first one I did was one that hated title, "It Only Takes 3 Seconds For The Title to Change Hands."  on Friday August 10, 2010. I revised paragraph one and then offered some commentary below. So, this is one of the learn as you go projects. I hated that over 10 year old post so much that I will return very very soon to finish the story. So paragraph one was just revised. I did not save the original which I regret but will change the color of the original text moving forward and I will keep the notes up for a while and achieve them to officially be done. So look for the (2021 REMIX) in the title for a bit more content and building on the what has been done. Look for the Green Text for the commentary and feel free to reach out if there any questions about anything or anyone. I miss writing about my thoughts and my reality.  I can't believe that I missed my 10 year anniversary on here. I hope the guilt makes me write a fucking book and I can assure you that you won't be in it and I miss absolutely no one. Enjoy the REMIXES and I want to create some new stuff but I need it to be FUN. I leave you with a picture of my very first attempt at a custom action figure as 15 year old me attempted to turn the Green Lantern into Parallax. I really wanted a Parallax figure.  The older wiser 8r8 and GENERATION that....

Where Yo Land

“Cause time's a wastin'
Don't you take your time, young man
Keep on drifting and
Ain't no telling where yo land.” -

Erykah Badu- Mama’s Gun-(2000)

That track and a big ass blunt back then was straight up perfection. She spoke to me and that wasn’t easy to do cause of the noise. There’s was so many different personalties that came with an individual soundtrack and if we got high enough we were going to listen to your song. We are going to get to your story I just hope I could hear it tonight because of all of this noise. Yeah, it’s Saturday night so you know I am going to have leave because she got some a couple Buddas and the after hours is usually ridiculous but you can still chill here and I know this dude right here has been quiet and he’s been listening, I love him to death and he’s going to understand. I was overwhelmed because that song got in my head. On the surface I was going a little backwards depending on your morality perspective. I had said yes to drugs and I was adjusting from never touching the stuff to how far can I take this without fucking up too bad? I was overwhelmed because Mama’s Gun album has filled my head with questions. I was going to need to have a few drinks with Sarah before the after hours because she was the voice of reason and my moral thermometer. She didn’t do drugs, she would have a few drinks, and steal most of my cigarettes but I could tell her just about anything. She was the best judge of character you could possible want. A true Catholic that was never preachy or judgmental she had that mystic quality of grown woman very young. I would expose her to an odd cast of people in small doses sporadically. I had a level of respect for her and she was my oldest friend. We could both be thrown right into nosiest situation and makes some sense of all of it. She listened to me cry about my broken heart for over a year at this point and knew I was still a bit lost. I had to explain to her that going out once a week and taking a little pill really helped. I opened myself up again socially and I was forming a soul binding relationship with music. She wasn’t impressed that I needed a substance to connect with music but I assured her I was going to stay in control. I was already a fully functioning pothead that only went out to the club once a week. This was music to my ears. It’s always important to have that one person good on board in your life to help you along. I wasn’t wasting time anymore because I cheated. It was becoming easier to find the moment. I had a clear vision of it but how was I going to seize it all?  I started making sense of all that noise. That album means something to you and I understand why love it so much. I am very happy I smoked with you and now this song is going to always remind me of you and now it’s part of my story. Speaking of my story, my podcast didn’t quite take off like I would have liked. I am not closing the door on it so it may be back some day soon. I am going to throw you a few words more often. It may be something like today or something else. I enjoy when I have no real plan and as you can see some weird shit came out. I hope everyone is looking for something intangible out there. I want you to go out and find that something that you are mssing. There’s something to gain for sure. Take care everyone. See you soon.

#23: Batman V Superman

WARNING SPOILERS FOR BATMAN V SUPERMAN ARE AHEAD!!!

The 8r8 brings you another podcast from sea as we discuss Batman V Superman. The 8r8 was not biggest fan of the box office attraction as we get right into it. I will say this, the 16 hour drive to Houston probably didn't do the movie any favors. I may have watched it through a tired eye. There were a few story flaws that needed to be discussed. The Kings of the Superhero trailer Warner Bros. are back! This movie should have been way better but there were a few decent moments. Suicide Squad better not suck!

LMFAO: SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING REVIEW: UPDATED

I am trying to come up with a working title for these blogger podcasts I have been posting. The Chronicles of 8R8 were one thought? Tales from the 8R8 is what I called it in this podcast, but the real story here is that I bet you cannot believe someone is actually posting a blog about LMFAO in the year 2016? Relax, it's only an update of something that I wrote in June of 2011. As you can see I am little bit behind on my editing, but I have found going through these old blogs are really fun. Once again there were some changes since the read and I am including the podcast in this post as well as on the original just in case you don't want to go through the archives. I promise this is the last time I will write those two sentences, so from now on those last two sentences will more than likely be the norm for future Tales from the 8R8. I had fun going through some of the memories of this time period when I talked about this particular piece. There are just so many stories from that era that really need to be talked about. I believe I tackled the music from that time period but there is some real life stuff that was just as juicy as the songs. I plan on revisiting this era in the podcast world very soon. Alright, if you go back and read this one then you’re the greatest, but if you don't at least listen to the short podcast. Have some fun this weekend or else.

TEAR JERKING PAGES #2: OH MY GOD, IT'S JASON TODD- UPDATED

I have updated another one of my blogs with a new edit as well as a short podcast to add a little insight. The bad news for me is that this concludes my short lived Tear Jerking Pages series but the good news is I found a draft for Tear Jerking Pages #3 in the archives. I had such a good time editing these two that I plan on revisiting the series very soon. I promise at the minimum to bring you #3 very soon. It's about a moment in comic book history that was too big to be ignored and fits in perfectly with these moments. I have included the podcast in this post if you don't feel like digging through the archives but there were more edits after the read. I will see you at C2E2 this Friday, Comic-Con like a Mother Mother. You should go!
